Safely recycle your electronics this Earth Day
Sarasota, FL April 4, 2022 – SouthTech, a managed technology solutions leader on the Florida West Coast will be hosting their next electronics recycling event in cooperation with the Lakewood Ranch Business Allianceand Lakewood Ranch Community Activities.
The event will be held Friday, April 22, 2022, at 9:00 am to 1:00 pm at 8100 Lakewood Ranch Blvd, Lakewood Ranch, FL 34202. Clients and the public are encouraged to bring their old, outdated electronics to be securely recycled at no charge. The Data Dump works like an assembly line. Participants pull up their car, SouthTech will help unload, and then the disassembly starts. Devices with hard drives will be taken apart and the hard drives will be punched with an industrial drill press, destroying them so on one can access previous data. Participants are welcome to stick around to watch or record the hard drive destruction, for proof of secure disposal, or if they’re in a hurry they can head out as soon as their car is unloaded.
Accepted items include LCD monitors, printers, computers, laptops, keyboards, tablets, cables, and phones. Items that cannot be accepted include televisions, batteries, and CRT monitors.
