Tampa, Fla. – Hillsborough Community College (HCC) will host the Fifth annual Social Entrepreneurship Education Day (SEED) on April 22.
This event will take place on Earth Day as an active effort to engage the community, teachers and students with doing well by doing good.
SEED was initially launched in 2016 serving those who were interested in learning more about social entrepreneurship. Since then, the event has grown to engage K-12 students and teachers as well as college students and the general public.
According to a recent Nielsen study, about 54% of Generation Z indicated they wanted to start their own company, listing control, financial freedom, the pursuit of a purposeful life and being good to the planet as driving factors to their entrepreneurial goals. The HCC Entrepreneurship Program, in partnership with Hillsborough County Edi2, presents the event to meet the needs of this key demographic.
The event is free and open to the public. Guests of the event will work with a team, engage in facilitated design thinking processes, and present an idea to solve a social problem that may lead to a business formation.
HCC is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC). Visit hccfl.edu/accreditation for more information.
