Recognizing An Essential Partnership Supporting Floridians:
• People with disabilities, including many who are autistic and who are deaf and hard of hearing at MTC, have successfully packaged over 17 million transponders!
• Deemed an essential service, MTC continued to meet the needs of Floridians and tourists, by packaging over 2 million SunPass transponders throughout the pandemic.
• In a long-anticipated development, SunPass now works everywhere E-ZPass is accepted.
“Since 2007, the MacDonald Training Center (MTC) has packaged over 17 million transponders for valued SunPass customers. Each SunPass transponder has been carefully handled by people with disabilities, who are empowered to lead lives outside of their disabilities and shatter barriers to independence. The partnership allows people with disabilities to learn valuable job skills that they can use throughout their careers. We are extremely proud of our partnership with the MacDonald Training Center and grateful for the hard work, ensuring our SunPass customers receive a quality product.” Nicola Liquori, Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer
“The SunPass contract has opened the door to jobs in the community for many of the people we serve, it is effective training that leads to community employment and a fulfillment of goals and dreams for individuals with disabilities. Keeping this contract is a source of pride for us all.”
