5. Space Jam and Space Jam 2
For young and old, Space Jam projects Michael Jordan, who has temporarily retired from basketball, into the world of Looney Tunes to save Bugs Bunny and company from a gang of galactic monsters. How? Obviously with a basketball game.
Situation similar to that experienced by MJ who is also found in Space Jam 2, released in Italian cinemas a few weeks ago: in this case, however, the protagonist is another great basketball player, LeBron James.
King James is catapulted into a parallel reality, where, in order to return home, he will be forced to fight alongside the Looney Tunes against a team of champions, the Goon Squad, made up of famous faces of the NBA (Anthony Davis, Klay Thompson and Damian Lillard) and the WNBA (Nneka Ogwumike and Diana Taurasi).
6. He Got Game
“A Spike Lee Joint”, are words that are a guarantee of absolute quality.
He Got Game is the story of the relationship between father and son, whose only point of contact is basketball. Jack Shuttlesworth (Denzel Washington) in prison for murder, to get relief from his sentence will have to convince his son Jesus, played by Ray Allen, to sign for a prestigious university.
Perhaps one of the crudest films, which offers a real cross-section of basketball and everyday life without the filters of do-gooders and novels. Returning to Win is the story of Jack Cunningham, a promising former player, who finds himself coaching his high school team as he faces the demons of his past and present.
7. Iverson

Chi Non-Salta Bianco è is a comedy that has also inspired many basketball players in aesthetics: Pat Connaughton himself showed up at the 2020 Slam Dunk Contest with clothes taken from the film.
9. Uncle Drew
Pure comedy: entertaining and not demanding. Uncle Drew tells the story of Dax, a penniless salesman who is played all out in the famous Rucker Park tournament. Abandoned by his star, played by Aaron Gordon, he will try to recruit the legendary Uncle Drew and his old team.
10. Bonus: Just Win
Nick Nolte, Shaquille O’Neal and Penny Hardaway: Basta Vincere relies on this trio of film and sports superstars to tell the story of a college coach who is faced with the tough NCAA rules on recruiting while having to build a team to win the championship.
Between dubious compromises and sporting backstories, the film shows a fictionalized cross-section of many situations that really happen in college basketball.
