How to Take Responsibility for Your Life | 5 Simple Tips by Experts

March 1, 2022 by Post

What do you feel when you hear the word “responsibility”? Many women associate this word with something heavy, unbearable. Indeed, we often confuse male and female responsibility, we try (or are forced) to take on more than necessary. But even more often, we throw on others the most important kind of responsibility that should never be given up on anyone – the responsibility for our own lives!

“What should I do? What decision should I make? Am I doing the right thing? And what is the right thing to do?” Answers to such questions we will never get from others, they are only within ourselves.

There are times when we are so distrustful of ourselves that we are willing to take someone else’s advice with far more fervor than the answer that our own mind, our own soul, suggests. It may seem to us that other people are more competent, that they have more experience and knowledge. But in reality, we are simply afraid to take responsibility for our own decisions and actions.

Taking responsibility for ourselves means admitting that everything we have in our lives (all the achievements and all the problems) we have created with our own hands. In essence, we have no right to say, “I married him once and that’s why my whole life turned out wrong,” or “I dreamed of being a housewife but had to work because my husband didn’t provide for me,” or “I always wanted to build a career, but my husband put me at home and my career failed because of that.” Deep down, we know that this is self-delusion. We chose this man, this job, these friends. We do or fail to do something in our lives and get a completely natural result, for which we are solely responsible.

On the one hand, this realization is painful, and causes many to feel guilty, resentful of themselves, feeling worthless. But on the other hand, taking responsibility for one’s life reveals millions of possibilities.

The word “responsibility” is very similar to the word “answer,” and by and large, responsibility is the ability to give the right answers for oneself to the questions that life asks. Here it is important to understand that there are no true or false answers to life’s questions, only the answer that is right for you now.

Every step, every decision has certain consequences. These consequences create the reality on which we rely to move forward. Behind every step there is room to move forward, but only when we take responsibility for that step. By shifting responsibility to others, we lose the solid ground beneath our feet and find ourselves in a cloud of illusions, expectations, and claims on other people. The movement stops, nothing changes in life, the results don’t come.

How to Take Responsibility for Our Lives

Allow Yourself to Be Wrong

The first thing to realize is that any decision you make will be right and wrong at the same time. We live in a world where there are no perfect decisions. Every decision brings something new to our lives and takes something away. Even if you lose some money after creating a National Casino Canada login, you should take it as an experience. It’s not a matter of making the best choice in the world, it’s a matter of making the best choice for yourself now.

Never Blame Yourself

It’s your decision and you were entitled to it. Even if it led you to the wrong place. Whatever point on the road of life you find yourself at, accept yourself and go towards your dreams.

Trust Yourself

When you ask other people for advice all the time, you start to live their destinies. People give advice based on their values and dreams or on their complexes and resentments. Either way, their opinions are unlikely to lead you to your deepest values, even if they seem very interesting at first glance.

Act

Responsibility implies action, and action implies results. If there’s a lot of talking and no results in your life, ask yourself two simple questions: “What do I really want? How can I achieve it?”

Don’t Trade Your Dreams for Immediate Results

Often we feel responsible in the “here and now,” but in global issues we hope for a miracle. Building big life plans “brick by brick,” from momentary results, is indeed a skill.

There are not many people in the world who are ready to take responsibility for their lives. Far more are those who like to give advice. Become an adult! It’s a great opportunity to separate yourself from most people and live happily ever after!
