City Discusses American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) Funds Tarpon Springs is receiving $12 million in federal funding through the ARPA program. To date, about $2 million has been allocated for four projects: Bayshore Drive sewer project, citywide marketing/advertising, mental health for first responders, and Public Safety Building upgrades. Officials are continuing to seek resident input on the remaining $10 million. Welcome New Businesses: Blackbeard’s Grub n’ Grog and Marco’s Pizza
Blackbeard’s Grub n’ Grog, 80 W. Live Oak, opened in late February and Marco’s Pizza, 1147 S. Pinellas Ave., will be opening in early March. Blackbeard’s offers a menu ranging from seafood, salads, sandwiches, and steaks. The new restaurant is locally owned and operated. Marco’s pizza, a national franchise, specializes in pizza, crustless pizza bowls, salads, wings, and subs, and is opening Monday, Feb. 28.
Flagship Bank Breaks Ground on New Building A new Flagship Bank is under construction at the southeast corner of Meres and Alt. 19 at the Meres Town Center. The new 3,300 sq. ft. building will feature a drive-thru. Once completed later this year, the bank and employees will move from their temporary location at 116 S. Pinellas Ave.
New Upscale Cocktail Lounge to Open Downtown Twisted Orange, a new cocktail lounge concept by the owners of Backdraughts Downtown, will be opening at 105 E. Tarpon Ave. The new lounge will feature specialty craft cocktails, soft music, and small plates from nearby Backdraughts and Maine-ly Delicious.
Free Business Resources for Small Business The Small Business Development Center offers myriad free online workshops and seminars to help small businesses start, grow, and prosper. Pinellas County SCORE is dedicated to educating entrepreneurs and helping them succeed.
