February 22, 2022 by Post

TAMPA, FL (Feb. 21, 2022) – HCA Healthcare West Florida Division President Ravi Chari, M.D. announces the appointment of Lisa Nummi as chief executive officer for Citrus Memorial Hospital. Nummi currently is the chief operating officer at Blake Medical Center and will move into her new position on March 21, 2022 following the retirement of Ginger Carroll.

“Lisa is a proven leader who brings a strong clinical background, patient focus and collaborative approach to engaging caregivers in transforming the patient experience for optimal quality outcomes,” said Chari. “Her academic background is an additional asset as we expand our focus on graduate medical education.”

Tim Burroughs, Chief Administrative Officer for the Division, added, “We are confident in Lisa’s ability to continue to make Citrus Memorial Hospital the hospital of choice for the residents in Citrus County.  Ginger Carroll, outgoing Citrus CEO, is leaving us with a firm foundation as we transition to the HCA Florida Healthcare brand and we thank her for her dedicated leadership.”

Nummi began her career as a bedside nurse in pediatrics, pediatric critical care and emergency medicine before transitioning to adult emergency care and flight nursing.  From there, she moved into administration and leadership of adult and pediatric critical care and emergency nursing departments.  During this time, she also practiced as a pediatric, emergency and family nurse practitioner in Florida and New Hampshire as well as serving as adjunct faculty to the University of Tampa and the University of Texas-Arlington.  She remains actively involved in precepting graduate level students. Nummi also served as COO of the 700-bed Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center in Las Vegas, the largest hospital in Nevada.

She holds a Doctorate in Nursing from Case Western Reserve in Cleveland, Ohio and an MBA from South University. She earned an MSN and BSN from the University of Tampa.

Nummi currently resides in Lakewood Ranch, Florida and serves on the board for We Care Manatee and the Sheriff’s Advisory Board. She has two sons, a county judge in Florida and an orthopedic surgeon in Maryland and five grandchildren.
