The objective of the websites is to retake community journalism from the hands of the mainstream conglomerates and return authentic reporting to local journalists. Tidings will be adding volunteer credentialed reporters, contributors, and commissioned salespeople across the central corridor of Florida to support the sites with content and advertising.
Tidings now operates in the Florida Counties of Hillsborough, Pasco, Pinellas, Manatee, Polk, Brevard, Volusia, Seminole, Hernando, Sarasota, and Orange
The websites feature relevant local content including curated news and local user submissions. Reporters, freelancers and community members are encouraged to submit local content for publication. Each community website will feature local content including an events calendar with user submissions, weather, classifieds, comments, local and regional news and more. The first step for any of these three positions is to register an account at Tidings.Media and then contact Tidings for further details.
Each site is a hyperlocal micro site, enabling targeted advertising campaigns utilizing a marksman approach vs. a shotgun approach, allowing pinpoint market specific advertising. Direct geographic match to desired audiences enables reduction of site specific advertising costs facilitating reach to an audience on a much cheaper basis than traditional advertising with strong returns on advertising investment.
