Shady Hills — The 2021 Celebration of Lights at The Concourse was produced and managed by the 2021 Celebration of Lights committee. The event was brought to you by our partners at Pasco Safety Town, Pasco County Parks, Recreation and Natural Resources, West Pasco Sertoma and Grand Concourse Railroad. Over 20 businesses and community members sponsored lights, helping to make this event a success for our community. The event welcomed thousands of cars and their riders with over a mile and half of light displays upon the route.
Santa Clause was on site every weekend for a photo opportunity. Grand Concourse Railroad Holiday Train Tickets were 1/2 off for a ride to Pasco Safety Town where you had an opportunity to walk thru the enchanted mini town snow globe adorned with festive lights. Then you could take a return train ride back to your vehicle to drive through mile and a half of beautiful larger than life light displays.
Proceeds from the 2021 event went to support Pasco Safety Town, Pasco County Parks, Recreation and Natural Resources Summer Camp Scholarship, West Pasco Sertoma, Pasco Sheriff’s Office Explorers Post 916, Pasco Sheriff’s Office Citizen Support Unit, Wheelchairs for Kids, Krewe de Forti Future First Responder Scholarship Fund, Krewe of Chasco, Hope Lutheran Church Hudson, Essential Church and Youth and Family Alternatives.
This community event was founded by Dave Parris, who passed away in 2015. He fashioned this holiday light show after the one in his hometown, with hopes young families would create memories and someday bring their grandchildren.
