~New Chief to focus on organizing local partnerships to build innovative career pathways
and talent pipelines for key sectors struggling to find qualified workers~
TAMPA, FL – CareerSource Tampa Bay (CSTB) has announced a new member of the
leadership team. Dr. Byron Clayton hired for a new position titled, Senior Vice President &
Chief of Sector Partnerships. Dr. Clayton brings with him years of leadership experience with
running private, nonprofit, and quasi-public organizations and the many connections that he
has made throughout his career.
As Chief of Sector Partnerships, Dr. Clayton will be tasked with helping employers leverage
partnerships with local educational institutions and community organizations to build career
pathways and talent pipelines for hard-to-fill positions. This role prioritizes career and industry
sectors that drive the prosperity of Hillsborough County businesses, communities, and
residents.
Dr. Clayton brings more than 40 years of leadership experience to this post as well as
experience in creating and executing strategic plans to ensure economic growth and job
growth for the industries in which he has worked.

Most recently Dr. Clayton was the CEO of Tampa Bay Works Inc. He also held positions
serving as CEO of ARM or the Advanced Robotics for Manufacturing Institute in Pittsburgh
who aims to revitalize leadership in American advanced manufacturing as well as being the
President and CEO of the Research Park Corporation in Louisiana, that focuses on creating
jobs for the future in Louisiana.
