Ask a 4th grader: “What do you want to be when you grow up?” You’ll get a lot of interesting answers! Project TEACH is a partnership between the Manatee Chamber of Commerce and the School District of Manatee County designed to help students explore careers and offer a reminder on the importance of first impressions.
The Chamber will send more than 150 business volunteers into 4th grade classrooms on Thursday, March 10. An orientation and breakfast will be provided from 7:00 to 8:15 AM, before volunteers head to their assigned schools. For many students, this is one of the first times they have had a business volunteer in their classroom, and the first time they have been exposed to careers other than those of their parents.
Volunteering is easy and fun! We supply the curriculum and materials. You bring your enthusiasm and experience (and 25 business cards). When registering, let us know if you have a school preference.
This program will be held on Thursday, March 10, 2022 from 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM.
The schedule is as follows:
7:00 AM – Orientation breakfast at Bishop Museum of Science & Nature
8:45 AM – Arrive at assigned school
9:00 – 10:00 AM – Classroom activity
Volunteers must sign up to participate. To register online, visit http://www.manateechamber.com/Teach or you may contact Rachel DesRosier at 941 748-4842 ext. 235 or RachelD@ManateeChamber.com
Project TEACH 2022 is sponsored by the Manatee Educational Foundation and Bishop Museum of Science and Nature.
