Carrollwood Day School Seniors Gain Acceptance to Brown University, Northwestern University, Princeton University, the University of Chicago among other top tier schools in the competitive early decision I and restrictive early action process.
The college counseling department at Carrollwood Day School is pleased to announce that several students have received notification of an acceptance as a result of the early decision I process. Early decision I is a binding commitment made by the applicant that informs a college or university that the student would be willing and able to attend the school if fortunate enough to be offered a place in the incoming class. This application category is an effective tool for students to demonstrate their strong interest in their number one choice school. CDS is thrilled and proud of the following students who have been accepted to their first option via early decision I:
• Julian A.: University of Miami
• Abigail A.: Emory University
• Jonathan C.: Brown University
• Camila G.: University of Chicago
• Jessica G.: Brown University
• Andrew G.: Washington University in St. Louis
• Clayton K.: Lehigh University
• Ashna P.: Northwestern University
• Nicholas R.: Drexel University
• Lauren T.: College of William and Mary
Additionally, two students have been admitted to schools via the restrictive early action process. Similar to early decision, restrictive early action provides the student with the ability to hear their admission decision earlier in the process and demonstrate their strong interest in attending an institution. Unlike early decision, restrictive early action is non-binding, therefore students are welcome to apply to other schools via regular decision. Congratulations to our two students from CDS who have been accepted to restrictive early action schools:
• Suhani S.: Princeton University
• Gabriel S.: University of Notre Dame
CDS eagerly anticipates hearing more news from our students who have applied through early action and regular decision as the academic year unfolds. A sampling of institutions from which CDS students have received early action acceptances thus far includes:
• Elon University (six students)
• Fordham University (three students)
• Furman University
• Hampton University (four students)
• Indiana University (two students)
• Loyola University (IL) (six students)
• Southern Methodist University (three students)
• The Ohio State University
• University of Denver (three students)
• University of Georgia (five students)
• Union College
• United States Military Academy (West Point)
Please join us in celebrating these students’ impressive achievements during the early admission process!
