How to help employees switch to LMS

December 30, 2021 by Post

Upgrading your workplace learning culture to LMS is a sure-fire way to improve performance. But, what if your employees are not ready to shift from traditional learning to online learning? What if they find LMS difficult to use? This can be a hurdle for those employees who are interested in switching. It is the role of the company to understand the impact switching might have on employees. We have to make them feel welcome during the transition. A positive work environment arises when employees are comfortable with their jobs. This can be achieved through a smooth onboarding process. You need to make sure your employees are using the LMS. And if not, they should be encouraged to use it.

Here are a few things that will make your employee onboarding process easy.

Explain the importance and need for using LMS.

The employees should understand the reason behind the company making this change. Demonstrate how we’ll reach new heights by implementing this strategy. Answer their queries and gain their trust. Share the financial and analytical benefits of using LMS, tell them the importance of it, and how using it will benefit in cost-cutting the company’s expenses and time.

Explain the benefits.

If company benefits do not bother them then, the only way to make them understand the importance of LMS is by telling them about the perks they will be gaining with LMS. Tell them about easy learning, Interactive sessions, gamification, and other fun features of LMS. Show them a demo lesson module for better understanding and explain the benefit of completion of the course in LMS. Ensure that they know about the certifications that can be gained after course completion and how they can use them for salary raises or promotion. Once they know how LMS can be effective for their performance improvement, they will be more inclined to use it.

Try blended learning.

You can’t just jump into Elearning. Your employees will need some support to make their way into online learning using an LMS easy and convenient. Using blended learning will make sure they are going at a good pace and are getting benefitted. Various LMSs use blended learning. One such LMS is Bridge. Bridge instructure makes it easy for employees to communicate with each other and their managers around the learning process. If you just let your employees start using LMS, they may feel abandoned. Instead, try blended learning which is a combination of online and offline learning. It will make them more comfortable.

Explain the technicalities.

Demonstrate how to use LMS. Your employees may face difficulty using the LMS. Show them how to start or pause any sessions, how to add courses to their wishlist, play audio and video, use gamification, and other things like downloading the course material or uploading the assignments. As they become more familiar with it, it will become easier for them. That will lead to self-motivation.

Provide a user-friendly interface.

Learners should be able to use your LMS conveniently. The options and the dashboard should look easy to use. If they couldn’t find options or courses they wanted to join, they may feel confused and find it hard to use. Having a search bar, email, groups, status and other features should be easy to access. If the LMS has a friendly interface there will be no issue for employees to navigate through the app. ProProfs LMS, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Canvas LMS are a few of the easiest LMS to use.

Weekly feedback sessions.

Conduct in-person or online sessions to ensure your employees are on the same page. Making sure no one’s lagging is important. Regular checking of feedback will ensure their concerns are being addressed. These sessions can be used as meetings to inform and teach how to use various features of an LMS to achieve good results.

Summing-up:

Together, walk through the fire with your team. Don’t let them feel they are deserted. This will ensure you get their trust. To improve a company’s overall performance, employees must understand the use of LMS. This will lead to the productivity of your employees as well as the company.
