Westshore Alliance Names Michael Maurino Executive Director

TAMPA (December 27, 2021) – The Westshore Alliance Board of Directors has appointed Michael Maurino as the organization’s Executive Director, following the retirement of executive director Ann Kulig. Maurino currently serves as the Transportation and Planning Director of the Alliance, oversee-ing transportation and master planning initiatives for the organization.

“The Westshore Alliance is thrilled to welcome Michael to this new role,” said Westshore Alliance Board President Patrick Kelly. “His in-depth knowledge of the Alliances’ key priorities makes him a great fit for this position. We have been fortunate to have Ann Kulig’s service to the organization for nearly twenty years. We thank Ann for her dedication, and we look forward to Michael’s leadership in shaping the future growth of this thriving community.”

Maurino joined the Alliance in 2018 and has been instrumental in advocating for transportation im-provements for the district. Prior to joining the Alliance, he spent more than 10 years in a variety of government relations and advocacy roles with non-profit and public sector organizations in the Tampa Bay area.

“I am honored to become the Westshore Alliance’s executive director, and I am grateful for Ann’s leadership and guidance during my tenure with the organization,” said Maurino. “Westshore has trans-formed into a wonderful community in which to live, work and play. I look forward to leading efforts in implementing the strategic goals and priorities of our members, as well as working to ensure the con-tinued economic prosperity of the Westshore District.”

Maurino is active in the community and serves on the Hillsborough County City-County Planning Com-mission, and the Transportation Planning Organization’s Livable Roadways Committee, of which he was the 2020 chairman. In addition, he is a member of the Urban Land Institute, International Downtown Association, and Walk Bike Tampa. He holds a B.A. in Political Science and a B.S. in Telecommunication – News from the University of Florida, a Congress for the New Urbanism Accreditation from the Uni-versity of Miami, and is currently enrolled in the Non-Profit Management Program at the University of Tampa.
