The Evolution of Hospital Care in Manatee County

The Manatee Chamber of Commerce is kicking off its 2022 Headliners Luncheon Series on Wednesday, January 12, 2022.  The Topic: The Evolution of Hospital Care in Manatee County. 

The Luncheon will feature Andy Guz, CEO of Lakewood Ranch Medical Center; Tom McDougal, CEO of Manatee Memorial Hospital; and Steve Nierman, President & CEO of Blake Medical Center.

The CEOs from our three major hospitals will provide an update on how health impacts your business, our community, and our economy. From battling the pandemic to bringing cutting-edge care to Manatee County, our local hospitals are integral to our quality of life. You’ll hear about new medical technologies, how they attract world-class healthcare professionals, and what is on the horizon for our medical community.

This event will be held on Wednesday, January 12, 2022, from 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM at the GROVE (10670 Boardwalk Loop, Lakewood Ranch, FL 34202). The cost is $35 for Manatee Chamber and Manatee Young Professionals members ($45 at the door). The cost is $49 for future members (current non-members and guests).

About our Speakers

Andy Guz has been the CEO of the Lakewood Ranch Medical Center since 2016. Before joining Lakewood Ranch, he served as the CEO of Jennersville Regional Hospital in West Grove, Pennsylvania. Guz holds a master’s degree in Health Administration from Cornell University.

Tom McDougal was hired as the new CEO for Manatee Memorial in August 2021. Before joining Manatee Memorial, he served as the CEO at Merit Health Biloxi in Biloxi, Mississippi. He holds a Doctor of Science degree in Healthcare Management and master’s degrees in Healthcare Administration and Business Administration from the University of Alabama.

Steve Nierman joined the team at Blake Medical Center as CEO and President in September 2021. Before moving to Bradenton, Nierman was the President of Winter Haven Hospital and the Polk Market-Lead for BayCare Health System in Central Florida. He has a master’s degree in Aeronautical Science from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and a master’s degree in Business Administration from Xavier University.
