The popular Oyster Fest took place on Sunday at Tabellas at Delaney Creek. This was the 3rd year for this tasty event that has grown each year from the start. In fact, this year a change of venue was necessary to accommodate interested Tampa Bay foodies.
There were 200 attendees in year one, 400 in year two and this year it doubled to 800 oyster fans. Attendees sampled their way through an oyster oasis with the Tampa Bay favorite cooked and prepared in different ways. Other food options were available too like Low Country Boil, and BBQ. The weather cooperated as visitors to the event enjoyed the sounds of local band performances from “Have Gun, Will Travel”, “Fil Pate Trio” & “The Applebutter Express.”
All proceeds benefit Frameworks of Tampa Bay (Emotional Intelligence for children/youth).
“It is amazing to feel the energy and see the excitement for this community event that will support Frameworks of Tampa Bay’s mission to build the social and emotional skills of our students and adults in Hillsborough. It’s been a challenging time for many, and to be able to host an event that will bring together our community for fun, food, music, drink and laughter was thrilling. Growing our event capacity to 800 and introducing folks to the new Tabella’s of Delaney Creek created so much enthusiasm! Our rock star Board Chair, John Wakefield’s vision is coming to life! If you love oysters, this was the place to be!”– Frameworks CEO, Elizabeth Reedy Foley
