Sarasota Bay Watch announces that registration is now open for its 12thAnnual Scallopalooza, It’s Clamtastic! fundraiser event on February 12, 2022 at the Hyatt Regency Sarasota. Scallopalooza, It’s Clamtastic! will provide a happy hour, dinner, light presentation, a very popular silent auction and entertainment while raising funds for local shellfish restoration across the Bay in Sarasota and Manatee counties.
Sarasota Bay Watch is an action-based, grassroots, non-profit organization dedicated to restoring coastal ecosystems through citizen participation. In 2021 alone over 825,000 clams were released! Clams naturally filter excess nutrients that contribute to red tide and poor clarity affecting seagrass growth, a necessary food source for local marine mammals. Membership is free; visit sarasotabaywatch.org to get involved with its on-going effort to protect and restore our local natural resource.
“I am so excited to have our friends and supporters back and in person for Scallopalooza. Everyone works so hard throughout the year, and this is really one of the only times we get to take off our gloves, get cleaned up and celebrate as a group. These are the folks making a difference in our waters and I am so grateful for this opportunity to show our appreciation.” – Ronda Ryan, Director, Sarasota Bay Watch
Scallopalooza, It’s Clamtastic, will be held Saturday, February 12, 2022 starting at 6 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency Sarasota. It is hosted by Sarasota Bay Watch. Coastal Conservation Association (CCA) Florida is the event sponsor for this year.
Early Bird tickets are available until December 31, 2021. Single tickets are $100, and tables of 10 may be purchased for $1000. There are also several sponsorship opportunities available. For more information and to register, please visit sarasotabaywatch.org/scallopalooza2022
