Association of Poinciana Villages to Host 28th Annual Christmas Parade and Celebration December 11

December 2, 2021 by Post

The Association of Poinciana Villages (APV) is excited to announce the return of a spectacular holiday celebration to wrap up the year. The 28th Annual Christmas Parade and Celebration will take place on Saturday, December 11, 2021 from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Amphitheater at Vance Harmon Park, located at 625 Country Club Drive in Poinciana.

This family-friendly event is free for APV residents and the public to enjoy. The festivities begin at 11 a.m. with a grand parade featuring dozens of floats and participants making their way from Cypress Parkway to Vance Harmon Park. Immediately following the parade, we will start our can’t-miss Holiday Celebration at the Vance Harmon Park Amphitheater, complete with food trucks, live music by La Calle Band and Don Black on the saxophone, inflatable bounce houses and sports games, face paint, balloon art, crafters, vendors, a battle of the bands and much more!

Plus, back by popular demand, there will also be an opportunity to have your picture taken with the Master of Ceremonies himself…Santa Claus and his Mrs.!

Residents and local businesses are invited to participate by entering a float for the parade or participating as a vendor at the Holiday Celebration. APV is also looking for sponsors, vendors, battle of the bands contestants and volunteers. As this is one of the association’s largest events of the year, it is a wonderful opportunity to get in front of Poinciana residents and introduce your company or services to the community. If you would like to register to participate, visit https://tinyurl.com/ywavxr8c. The registration deadline is Friday, December 3rd.

For those who enter a float, APV will be awarding prizes for the best decorations. First place is $500, with second place receiving $300 and $200 for the third place winner. Prizes will also be awarded at the battle of the bands competition with $400 going to the winner and $200 awarded to the runner up.

As always, APV thanks its Platinum Sponsors: T-Mobile and Riviera Spa Massage; and our Gold Sponsors: Humana, Osceola Memory Gardens, Guided Medicare Solutions, Valencia College, Poinciana Medical Center, and Larsen Slaten PLLC. Our sponsors make these events possible.
If you are interested in joining in on the fun, please contact APV Lifestyles Director Liz Wargo at 863-427-0900 ext. 301 or liz.wargo@fsresidential.com. You can find the volunteer application on the APV community website at https://www.apvcommunity.com.

Parking will be provided off site at the Activity Campus at 445 Marigold Avenue. APV will be using a 14-passenger bus as a shuttle. The APV shuttle will be provided to transport attendees to and from the event site. We ask that event patrons be patient with the shuttle service as this event attracts hundreds of people. The shuttle will run from 9:00am – 3:00pm. Carpooling is highly suggested.
Residents should also keep in mind that the following streets will be closing at 10:30 a.m. on the day of the Parade: The Poinciana Golf Villages of Country Club Drive, Country Club Drive, South Flag Drive, South Flag Court, Trophy Lane, Chip Court, Spoon Place, Country Club Court and Cypress Drive.

The Annual Christmas Parade and Holiday Celebration is just one of the many major events APV hosts throughout the year for residents and community members. Other events include the Poinciana Beautiful Awards Gala, SpringFest and Egg Hunt, the Independence Day Fireworks Spectacular, and the Annual Trunk or Treat. For more information about event sponsorship opportunities, please contact Kelley Spear at 863-313-3791 or Kelley.Spear@fsresidential.com.
