(Bradenton, Fla., Nov. 12, 2021) — Curious about the inner workings of the U.S. Federal Reserve System? Attend State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota’s (SCF) Faculty Lecture Series event “What Does the Fed Actually Do? Facts vs. Myths” with Associate Professor of Economics Kristen Zaborski at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 17, at SCF Bradenton, 5840 26th St. W., Library & Learning Center, Rooms 143/146. The lecture is free and open to the public.

The presentation will include critical information about the Federal Reserve System, including the history of the Fed, the two primary parts of the organization, the role banks play in the economy and the Fed’s response after 9/11. A short question and answer session will follow.

Zaborski joined SCF in June 2010 following an academic career working as an adjunct professor at four different higher education institutions in Mississippi. A former recipient of the Award for Innovative Excellence in Teaching, Learning, and Technology, Zaborski recently published three interactive e-textbooks in economics.
