| Sarasota FL, November 10 – Registration is now open for the next Empowered Transitions Support Group beginning again on January 5, 2022. The Group meets weekly in Sarasota for six weeks and is facilitated by Laura Weber Garrison, Ph.D., a Holistic Health Counselor and educator who specializes in treating abuse and trauma, Dr. Garrison describes the program as “Part group therapy, part Mastermind, part personal work, and part interactive.” The groups are limited in size and all ages and backgrounds are welcome. Preregistration is required as the group size is very limited. Areas that will be addressed and facilitated during the program include the impact and effects of trauma on the brain, the relationship between trauma, chronic pain, and various illnesses, and breaking free from destructive coping mechanisms and unhealthy patterns. Cognitive, somatic, and behavioral therapies are incorporated. Dr. Garrison has over two decades of experience working with challenged and at-risk populations, holds a doctorate in Holistic Health, is Board certified by the American Association of Drugless Practitioners, and is a member of the International Association of Counselors and Therapists.
