The Rotary Club of Sarasota is proud to announce a 5-year grant award of $50,000 to Boys & Girls Clubs of Sarasota and DeSoto Counties to support youth scholarships for the organization’s Great Futures Academy.
The Boys & Girls Clubs give youth a safe place for younger children to learn, play and grow into their full potential, while providing teens their own space to explore their individual voice, college and career opportunities, and gaining experience and skill sets through project-based learning.
Great Futures Academy was created to address the learning loss experienced by local youth due to COVID-19. Through the Academy, Club members will focus on academic recovery as well as participate in a variety of program opportunities to enrich their character and leadership while instilling healthy habits.
“The Rotary Club’s generosity enables us to grow our impact,” said Bill Sadlo, President/CEO. “and it will ensure equitable access to award-winning Club programs and services so that all youth have the opportunity to excel in school, become good citizens, and lead healthy, productive lives.”
