Kamberg Wellness Center, Expanded Performing Arts Center, Art Gallery, Pub-Style Dining Venue Are Part of Community’s Major Expansion Plans
SARASOTA, Fla. (November 8, 2021) – As a continuation of a major $85 million expansion project that began earlier this year, The Glenridge on Palmer Ranch will be starting expansion projects at two separate locations on the main campus for the addition of new health/wellness and lifestyle amenities:
• The Kamberg Center, a $4.5 million-dollar, full-service wellness facility, was inspired by the largest philanthropic gesture in the history of the community and is being funded by The Glenridge Charitable Foundation and a $2.5 million dollar gift from member Tina Kamberg. This state-of-the-art health pavilion will embrace the Six Keys to Living Well philosophy, with services geared toward physical, emotional, spiritual, social, financial, and mental wellbeing. The Center will also provide a multi-purpose venue for social events, designed for members age 90 and above.
• Modernization of The Glenridge Performing Arts Center will include an adjacent Art Gallery featuring the work of community members, as well as visiting artists. The new area will offer a one-stop cultural experience right on campus.
• Redesign of the existing Kiltie Café will create a casual, pub-style dining venue for breakfast, lunch and dinner — featuring a bar, exhibition kitchen, indoor and outdoor seating, and options for “grab & go” items and takeout.
• Expansion of the Fitness Complex to include pickleball and bocce ball, which will be located adjacent to the community’s HAR-TRU® tennis courts.
“This expansion marks years of planning that is now coming to fruition,” said Jim Cater, CEO of The Glenridge. “It’s another chapter in this community’s continuing evolution to improve and provide new opportunities for members to flourish even more here.”
In addition to the enhanced amenities, construction is already underway on approximately 60 acres just to the north of the main Glenridge campus. The first phase of the community’s new Northside neighborhood, which is sold out, will comprise 25 single-family Club Homes and 4 Villas. Upon completion of Northside, The Glenridge will have grown from 90 to 150 acres and will accommodate approximately 200 more members.
“From constructing new homes to refurbishing amenities in our existing community, we are evolving to meet demand and build for the future,” added Cater. “As we continue to welcome more people to The Glenridge, we’re committed to adding and improving services and amenities for everyone who lives here.”
Design and construction partners on the project include RDG Planning & Design, architects; and DeAngelis Diamond, general contractor.
The Glenridge on Palmer Ranch, a Life Fulfilling Community®, is located on a 150-acre campus situated within the master-planned Palmer Ranch community. The Glenridge features individual club homes and low-rise private residences; a new Club Home and Villa neighborhood under construction; a 60,000-sq.-ft. Village Commons area with multiple dining venues; a 260-seat Performing Arts Center; and a Fitness Complex featuring a Fitness Center, a 75-foot heated pool and two HAR-TRU® tennis courts. The Glenridge also offers a Health Assurance Guarantee program, which provides members with access to private care residences in assisted living and skilled nursing at a significant discount to the market rate.
