(TAMPA, Fla.) – Hillsborough Community College (HCC) and the InLab@HCC will host the 9th Annual Veterans Entrepreneurship Training Symposium (VETS) on Saturday, Nov. 6, 2021, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the HCC Dale Mabry Campus. Keynoting the event will be Paul Sohl, Rear Adm. USN (Ret) CEO, Florida High Tech Corridor Council.
“The symposium is a wonderful example of what is possible when stakeholders across a community come together to support our military and their families,” said Beth Kerly, HCC professor and InLab@HCC and VETS co-founder.
With the support of presenting sponsor USAA, the HCC Foundation and the Hillsborough County and Economic Development Innovation Initiative (EDi2) grant, the symposium has served over 1,500 veterans, active duty, Reserve/Guard and military spouses.
The VETS event will culminate with a financial pitch competition for $12,000 in cash prizes. Twenty-eight veterans have been awarded funding through the previous eight years of the pitch competition, which serves as the culminating event at the symposium.
