WHAT:
In celebration of Veteran’s Day, former Buccaneer Mike Alstott and the Mike Alstott Family Foundation will partner with Mike Delancey and the Wounded Warriors Abilities Ranch (WWAR) to host a friendly wheelchair flag football game between Veterans, Police, First Responders and members of the local Adaptive community.
On Tuesday, November 9, the two organizations will join forces to help promote the mission of the WWAR for local Veterans to get out and active by teaming up against each other in this friendly game of Wheelchair football.
Mike Alstott will be a coach and his son will serve as the QB for both teams. After the game, the Veterans and their guests will be treated to lunch provided by The Mike Alstott Family Foundation at the new OCC Restaurant at Berts Barracuda and they will have the opportunity to get photographs with and autographs from Alstott.
The Wounded Warriors Abilities Ranch and Park is a place for Veterans to get Out and Active through various recreational activities in a safe and reflective environment. It was founded in 2015 by Wounded Warrior Mike Delancey, a Pinellas Park resident who himself was critically injured in a sniper attack during military combat in Iraq and has confronted his own life changing injuries.
The Mike Alstott Family Foundation was formed to allow Alstott to assist others in uplifting the minds, hearts and spirits of families and children on their way to realizing their full potential through various events, assistance programs, and celebrations.
