FLORIDA –Legal Graphicworks, headquartered in West Palm Beach, FL, and Aquino Trial Services, headquartered in San Diego, CA, has announced a new joint venture that brings together the firms’ distinct boutique expertise in litigation and trial support services to offer a seamless solution to law firms, particularly as litigation and trials continue to shift between in person and virtual, making logistical pre-planning more complex. Legal Graphicworks’ leadership in multi-media graphics, medical imaging and court reporting, combined with Aquino’s award-winning talent in trial technology offers a new end-to-end resource uniquely prepared to present a winning case in a changing world. According to a recent article in the National Law Review, the changes seen during the pandemic may be here to stay as the “hybrid trial” that emerged during the pandemic may continue long after the coronavirus has disappeared.
Aquino Trial Services was launched right before the COVID-19 pandemic by founder Alicia Aquino, an NCRA accredited Trial Technology Consultant, a member of the American Society of Trial Consultants (ASTC) and a founding advisory board member of the Online Courtroom Project. She quickly became recognized for her expertise and leadership in the legal industry as she worked with attorneys to pivot seamlessly between in-person and remote trials, providing a comprehensive suite of trial support services to help legal teams prepare for and succeed at trial. Jim Lucas, president of Legal Graphicworks, took notice of Aquino’s talents and invited her to create a joint venture, building a combined entity that offers an unparalleled range of expertise and services for law firms coast to coast.
“At Legal Graphicworks, we are always seeking top talent to expand our services and exceed our clients’ expectations to win every case,” said Lucas. “Alicia, who was formerly a trial paralegal, has an exceptional understanding of what attorneys need and how to prepare them for any case, whether in-person or virtual. The quality of her work is evident by the attorneys and other trial and jury consultants who rely on her for her skill in legal project management, jury research, mock trials, graphics, and presentation of evidence.”
Legal Graphicworks has focused on strategic growth during 2021. In addition to the joint venture with Aquino Trial Services, the company launched a new Court Reporting Services division under the leadership of Debra Duran-Bornstein and acquired Legal Art Works of Jacksonville, FL.
Aquino is excited to join a strong team that will allow her to offer clients expanded services and expand her footprint in California and beyond in partnership with Legal Graphicworks.
“I have grown my business by helping every one of my clients to become better trial attorneys—that’s what is meaningful to me,” said Aquino. “And I know from my own experience that preparation and organization is the key to a seamless trial. With Aquino/LGW, we can be the one place where clients can turn to make their trials seamless in this ever-changing environment, leaving them to focus on winning their cases.”
Aquino has placed a special emphasis on working with young female attorneys, helping them build their reputations and their firms by making them look their best at trial. Her passion to help others is also demonstrated through her volunteer work with the homeless, fostered youth and the LGBTQ+ community. She currently serves as President of the Tom Homann LGBTQ Law Association Foundation Board and committee member of the ABA Women of Legal Tech Summit. Her leadership has been recognized through high-profile awards, including CEO of the Year in 2020, Women of Influence in Law in 2021, and the Top Tech Award for 2019, 2020 and 2021, all from the San Diego Business Journal.
“Alicia’s dedication to her profession as well as her community is something we admire and share,” said Lucas. “We know we will make an extraordinary impact together in the years to come.”
