GTE Financial Promotes New Assistant Vice President for Member Care and Multicultural Inclusion Strategy

November 2, 2021 by Post

TAMPA, FLORIDA, NOVEMBER 2021: GTE Financial has increased the strength of its leadership team by promoting Roman Madotta, AVP of Member Care, and Cynthia Colón, AVP of Multicultural Inclusion Strategy. GTE knows that strong leadership teams better serve its employees and member base. They strive to promote from within, creating more advancement opportunities for employees at all levels in the financial institution.

Roman Madotta began his career with GTE Financial nine years ago as a Member Care Advocate. After spending time in this role, Madotta moved to Member Experience Support, then Onscreen Supervisor of GTE’s Interactive Teller Machines (ITMs). After leading the Virtual Teller team for three years, he was promoted to Member Care Manager and eventually Senior Member Care Manager.

As a product of his hard work and perseverance, Madotta is now AVP of Member Care. Madotta’s primary focus as AVP of Member Care is driving exceptional quality services in the marketplace to members, participating in GTE projects, elevating elements of product development, and engaging in delivery channels to support the strategic plans for GTE’s growth. Madotta received his Associate of Arts degree from St. Petersburg College in Liberal Arts and Sciences, General Studies, and Humanities.

“As AVP of Member Care, I want to elevate the expectations and experience of those we serve and, in return, redefine the experience our members want, expect, and deserve,” says Roman Madotta.

Similarly, Cynthia Colón, GTE’s newly promoted AVP of Multicultural Inclusion Strategy, held several positions within GTE’s marketing and engagement team for seven years. Colón started by leading the credit union’s public relations efforts and now has taken a lead role in developing and strategizing the credit union’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) and multicultural programs. Her efforts have played an essential role in introducing a lineup of new services to GTE Financial’s Spanish-speaking membership and have expanded the credit union’s presence in the Hispanic Community.

Recently, Colón helped launch GTE’s Spanish website and Spanish portion of the credit union’s new mobile app along with marketing materials and workshops. Colón obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Film and Media Studies and a certification in Paralegal Studies from Hunter College in New York.

Additionally, she holds a Certification in Linguistics and Puerto Rican Studies from the University of Puerto Rico-Rio Piedras and completed a Certification in Diversity and Inclusion from Cornell University and a Certification in DEI in the Workplace from the University of South Florida.

“In my role, I will continue to connect with the communities we serve. Members can always feel like they belong here and receive the best banking experience we have to offer, no matter what their backgrounds or perspectives may be,” comments Cynthia Colón.

Both Madotta and Colón are active in the Tampa Bay Community. Roman supports the American Heart Association and assists in GTE’s fundraising efforts every October, while Colón serves as a Board Member of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Tampa Bay and the Latino Coalition of Tampa Bay.
