Residential Construction Booming Three new subdivisions are adding 149 new single-family homes and potentially more than 400 new residents over the next few years. Eagle Creek Estates, at Klosterman and Disston, is comprised of 51 home lots. River Bend Village, north of the Anclote River at Anclote Road, offers 54 lots, and North Lake Estates, at the eastern end of the city, will feature 44 single family homes, each on 1-acre lots. These subdivisions are in addition to the recently-completed Carriage Homes on Ring, Icaria on Pinellas, and Callista Cay Townhomes. The new residential developments offer diverse options for new and existing residents, and brings increased state and county revenues for the city. |
Welcome New Businesses: Empire Cafe & Lounge and Amor A La Mexicana Two new restaurants recently opened on Athens Street on the Sponge Docks and both add diverse menus to the Greektown area. Empire Cafe & Lounge, 459 Athens St., features deli-style favorites, a full bar, outdoor seating, and boasts “best breakfast on the Sponge Docks.” Just down the street at 530 Athens St., Amor a la Mexicana replaces the former Paul’s Shrimp House. The restaurant specializes in authentic Mexican cuisine and features a breakfast menu in addition to margaritas, $1.50 taco Wednesday, and more. |
Coming Soon: Marco’s Pizza and ForeShore Gulf Carts Opening soon in the Meres Crossing retail center is Marco’s Pizza, a restaurant chain headquartered in Ohio. Marcos has more than 1,000 stores in 34 states, and is planning 15 stores in the Tampa Bay region. Coming to Downtown in time for the tourist season is ForeShore Gulf Carts at 229 E. Lemon St. The new business will offer hourly, daily, and overnight rental of street legal low speed vehicle 4- and 6-passenger golf carts. |
