More than 70 employees moving to boutique office building
TAMPA, FL – (October 28, 2021) – As Midtown Tampa continues to spring to life with shopping, dining and events, major national companies are leasing office space at the massive $500 million mixed-use one-of-a-kind destination.
Bromley Companies announced today that one of the largest design and architecture firms in the country, Gresham Smith, will relocate its Tampa office to The Loft at Midtown Tampa https://midtowntampa.com/the-loft/. The boutique office building right in the heart of Midtown Tampa features an exclusive outdoor terrace, 15-foot ceilings, and interior space that allows for maximum flexibility and creativity.
The Loft represents a significant opportunity for the firm to showcase its best work. As it considers a new hybrid work approach, the 18,000 sq. ft. space could be the first of its kind nationally for the company.
“We’re very excited to welcome Gresham Smith to The Loft, an office building location like none other in the market that we describe as a 22-acre benefits package,” said Nicholas Haines, CEO, Bromley Companies. “The Loft is a gateway to the Midtown Tampa lifestyle, a great urban fit for Gresham Smith with next-gen creative open spaces and natural light, while incorporating first-class finishes, high-tech security and state-of-the-art technological capabilities.”
Located in Tampa since 1997, the Nashville-based architecture, engineering and design firm is among the top ranked firms in the area and consistently ranked as a “best place to work.”
“We’re thrilled with our new home in Tampa at The Loft at Midtown,” said Al Pramuk, CEO and chairman of Gresham Smith. “As one of our largest offices, Tampa is a critical and growing market for our firm. This exciting new mixed-use development is centrally located in an up-and-coming district that offers a vibrant and pedestrian-friendly environment for our clients and employees.”
Locally, the Gresham Smith team includes more than 70 employees who specialize in providing architecture, engineering, and interior design services for aviation, corporate and urban design, healthcare, transportation, and water and environment clients.
Gresham Smith will occupy the third floor of the three-story, 70,000-square-foot, stand-alone building, above The Hall at Midtown, an expansive and eclectic space showcasing diverse cuisine and cocktails.
At The Loft, Gresham Smith employees will be right in the middle of all of the action, with a high-visibility location at the entrance of Midtown and steps away from restaurants, shops, services and entertainment, overlooking Midtown Commons park with views of downtown Tampa.
Gresham Smith joins Compass https://www.compass.com/ and KAST Construction https://www.kastbuild.com/ at The Loft.
The Loft at Midtown offers an alternative to the three other office towers at Midtown Tampa, including the eight-story, 152,000-square-foot Midtown West, which is already built and leased in part. It will house the West Florida regional office of the largest bank headquartered in Florida, South State Bank https://southstatebank.com/, and the headquarters of professional solutions firm KForce https://www.kforce.com/, one of the largest publicly traded companies in Tampa Bay.
Robin Bishop and Nina Sullivan of Cushman & Wakefield brokered the lease.
