
(Bradenton, Fla., Oct. 26, 2021) — State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota’s (SCF) Percussion Ensemble will host “Beat Hunger” at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 16, at SCF Neel Performing Arts Center, 5840 26th St. W. No tickets are required; the Percussion Ensemble simply requests each attendant bring two canned goods to donate to the SCF Food Pantry.
The first annual concert will include the area’s best percussion groups, drum lines and marimba ensembles from schools including Venice High School, Buffalo Creek Middle School, St. Stephen’s Episcopal School, Bradenton Christian School and Manatee School for the Arts. Selections for the concert include “Trio for Percussion” and “Allegretto, Scherzino, Fughetta alla Siciliana” by Warren Benson; “Pizzicato-Polka” by Johann and Joseph Strauss and “A La Nañigo” by Mitchell Peters.
