TAMPA, FLORIDA — Mayor Jane Castor will deliver the welcome address on November 5th at Amalie Arena at the Florida Bitcoin & Blockchain Summit, a two-day event that will be the State of Florida’s first FinTech conference focused on bitcoin and blockchain technologies. She is joined by other high-profile supporters from the government and business sectors.
The event is presented by Celsius and 500-plus attendees are expected.
Tampa City Councilman Guido Maniscalco said, “As the world continues to rapidly change, we should be open minded to and embrace the future of technology and finance as the investments and use of cryptocurrency continue to rise. The future is already here.”
Lakshmi Shenoy, CEO of Embarc Collective, also supports the event, saying, “Florida has emerged as a leader in Bitcoin and broader blockchain technologies. Convening experts further reinforces the leadership role that the state will play going forward.”
Also getting behind the Florida Bitcoin & Blockchain Summit is the Atlanta-based Blockchain Chamber of Commerce. Their CEO, Rayshoun Chambers, said, “The world is changing, supply chain, agriculture, education, real estate, aerospace, and more. It’s important we embrace the reality that blockchain technology will be at the center of solution driven implementations in response to many of the current problems across the globe.”
She continued, “In order for mass adoption to take root, we need to encourage and support engagement at responsible events that are raising awareness of the technology. The Florida Bitcoin & Blockchain Summit does that for so many people.”
Modern news platform The St. Pete Catalyst has also given their support to the FBBS.
The Florida Bitcoin & Blockchain Summit will utilize the Firestick Grill and Chase Lounge at Amalie Arena, home of the National Hockey League’s back-to-back defending Stanley Cup champion Tampa Bay Lightning. Aimed at bringing together stakeholders, businesses, and political leaders from all over Florida as well as outside of the State to collaborate on a strategy that will drive growth inside and outside the Sunshine State, the event will feature a Beginner track, Investment track, Real Estate track, Developer track, and Blockchain track.
