The Florida Center Named One of the Top 25 Best Places to Work in Sarasota

October 6, 2021 by Post

Lori Warnelo, Gigi Gillis, Charmian Miller and Kimberly Treharne accept the Best Places to Work award on behalf of The Florida Center for Early Childhood for the fourth year in a row.

SARASOTA –The Florida Center for Early Childhood was named one of the top 25 employers to work for in the Sarasota-Manatee area by the “Best Places to Work” competition for the fourth year in a row.

The annual competition, which is hosted by an independent firm called Best Companies Group in conjunction with the Sarasota Herald-Tribune, critiques thousands of companies seeking to find workforce excellence by making sure their staff is truly happy.  Using a confidential survey, they rank businesses on a combination of characteristics like benefits, workplace culture, leadership, camaraderie and appreciation for the job.

“Our employees go above and beyond for the children and families they serve,” said Dr. Kristie Skoglund, CEO of The Florida Center. “We try to create a nurturing, trauma-informed environment where they feel appreciated and valued.”

Benefits of working at The Florida Center include flexible work schedule, discounted childcare, family mindfulness training and an impressive benefits package that includes an annual personal mental health day for every employee — no questions asked.
