Día de los Muertos is a time to honor and celebrate deceased loved ones. The show includes a juried exhibition of art and decorated Sugar Skulls. The show reflects this holiday that is full of life, contemplation, family, food and fun.
A special exhibit of 50 Sugar Skulls made by children at the the R’Club will also be on display.
This is not your normal Art Show, it will be a fun filled event with guests invited to come dressed for the occasion and free face painting to get people in the mood. Food and beverages and music will also be available to create an experience for Día de los Muertos that is rooted in tradition.
The exhibition is curated by local artists Danyell Bauer and Mark Noll. The show of fine art features imaginative pieces inspired by Dia de los Muertos from around the state, 28 artists created more than 70 pieces in glass, fiber, metal and wood and paint on canvas. There are also 68 Sugar skulls decorated by local artists which all started from the same wooden base with each artist creating a unique piece of art based on that. 50 smaller sugar skulls were decorated by local children. It will be on exhibit through October 30.
The show’s judges are, Audrie Cuddy Ranon, WADA Director of Operations, andJorge Vidal, Independent Curator at the Museum of Fine Arts and Anna Glenn, MS, Art Educator
Atelier de SoSi is located at 2380 6th Ave S, St. Petersburg, FL 33712. Gallery hours are Monday-Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Sunday, noon to 5 p.m.

Friday, October 8, 2021, 6 to 9 p.m. Opening celebration and award ceremony. Free face painting and Costume Contest. Food and beverages as well as assorted tasty Mexican treats including Skull shaped chocolates in 6 flavors presented by costumed servers.
Friday, October 8, 2021, 9 to 11 p.m. After Party at Bayboro Brewery within walking distance of the gallery.
Saturday, October 9, 6 to 39 p.m. Art Walk festivities will include Music, treats and beverages.
