August 27, 2021 — Monica Yadav has earned her professional accreditation in public relations. In receiving the designation of Accredited in Public Relations (APR), Yadav joins the more than 5,000 professionals nationally that represent an elite group of highly skilled public relations professionals committed to practicing with exemplary ethical standards.
Yadav is the director of communications and community engagement at Doctors Hospital of Sarasota where she oversees all external communications, media relations, social media and events for the hospital. Before working in healthcare, she was the manager of external relations for a large home services company and was responsible for media relations, media training and crisis communications for franchise owners across the country.
Yadav started her professional career as a TV news anchor and reporter and worked for 15 years at network affiliates in Arizona, Mississippi, North Carolina, and Florida. She is originally from Orlando and is a proud graduate of the University of Florida with a degree in Telecommunication News.
“It’s empowering to have a deeper understanding of the ‘why’ behind the ‘what’ we do every day,” said Yadav, APR. “Learning and adding to my skills is also rewarding personally and professionally.”
“This is an outstanding accomplishment by one of our very valued Communications and Community Engagement Directors,” said Tammy Robiconti, Vice President of Marketing and Public Affairs for HCA Healthcare West Florida Division. “It is a testament to Monica’s commitment to enhancing her skill set and sharing her knowledge to support our team and Doctors Hospital of Sarasota.”
The APR examination is administered by the Universal Accreditation Board (UAB), which is an alliance of eight national and statewide professional associations dedicated to furthering the field of public relations and the development of public relations professionals. The Florida Public Relations Association is a member of the UAB.
