DETAILS: Tom DiFiore, housing attorney at Bay Area Legal Services, will present and explain information about the basic rights of Florida renters. At this free training, participants should gain a better understanding of landlord/tenant eviction issues, the present state of COVID 19 protections, tips on dealings with landlords, repair issues and rental assistance available.
DiFiore is team leader for the housing and consumer unit of Bay Area Legal Services (BALS). Bay Area is a not-for-profit law firm that provides free legal services to eligible applicants in Hillsborough, Pasco, Pinellas, Sarasota and Manatee counties. His team focuses on housing, consumer, employment and public benefits law for Hillsborough County residents. He earned a bachelor of arts degree from Georgetown University before graduating from the National Law Center at George Washington University. Tom has led the housing/consumer unit for more than 20 years. His team’s primary mission is preserving housing and maintaining income for the Bay Area’s most needy citizens.
