Make Watching Movies at Home Better with These Tips

August 18, 2021 by Post

The era of movie theaters has gradually winded down to an unceremonious end. While a few straggling cinemas still exist on the fringes of small towns and tucked away in some quiet corners of major cities, streaming has become the new champion of movie viewing. At home, you can watch movies on demand for far less than the cost of going to the theater. There are many benefits to watching movies at home, especially in a period still entangled in a pandemic. You may think fondly of movie theaters and long for the days you could get completely immersed in the story on the big screen. Luckily, with these tips, you can recapture some of that magic at home and then some.

Give Yourself Some Variety

Pick a streaming service ahead of time and peruse the catalog of titles. You’ll ideally want to know what films you’ll be viewing ahead of time to avoid the frustration and boredom of scouring for one at the last minute. Netflix has a huge selection, and it is by-far the most popular movie streaming site in the world. But there’s also Hulu, Disney Plus and Amazon Prime Video. You can even buy or rent thousands of titles on YouTube.

Make Your Space Feel Just Right

Plan where you’ll be watching your movie, and create the right environment. Ambiance plays a huge role on the viewing experience, so you want to create a space that’s both subdued and relaxing. You don’t have to be rich enough to build a home movie theater; just invest in some room-darkening shades, throw pillows and candles. You can go a bit more playful and opt for colored LED light bulbs instead to cast your room in a blue, green or purple hue. If you enjoy smoking while you watch movies, avoid the mess and hassle by setting up a vaporizer. For the ultimate at-home viewing experience, you may want to look into the Pax 3 Vaporizer. They’re stylish and portable, and offers the perfect experience for vaping and viewing with friends.

Prevent Distractions

Create the same expectations for quiet in your space as you have in a theater. If you’ll be inviting others over to watch with you, make sure you ask them to turn their phones off or put them on silent. Lock the door or ensure no one will be coming in and switching on the light halfway through the film. Make sure that the dog has been taken out, and tend to anything that might draw your thoughts away from what’s happening on the screen.

Get the Best Grub

What’s a movie without popcorn? Well, it can be even more spectacular at home thanks to the fact you can craft your own viewing buffet. You can go classic and make your own buttery popcorn, or you can get creative. Bake some pizza bites, craft the ultimate loaded cheeseburger or indulge in some sushi. The sky’s the limit, and the best part is you won’t have to sneak anything in your pants. Of course, if you just want to take it easy, there’s nothing wrong with ordering your go-to from Postmates or UberEats.
