August 14th, 2021
The Pasco Advocates PTA is hosting a COVID-19 friendly drive through protest at the Pasco County Schools district campus on Tuesday, August 17th beginning at approximately 5:45pm.
We are scheduled to gather beginning at 5:00pm at the Connerton Publix, in the back of the parking lot. This Publix is located at: 7830 Land O’ Lakes Blvd. Land O’ Lakes, FL. 34638.
The District School Board of Pasco County (DSBPC) will be holding their bi-monthly meeting beginning at 6:00pm stated as such on their calendar located on their website. We plan to make it known that we believe in making masks mandatory for the safety of all students, staff and the community at large. Given the recent statements made by Governor DeSantis, which he has since walked back, we find that Superintendent Browning and the Board’s hands are no longer “tied” on this matter as President Biden and the United States Secretary of Education have pledged to support school districts that are financially penalized for placing our students first.
We welcome the media to our event to cover our peaceful and safe protest. All members of Pasco Advocates PTA have been invited and are currently RSVPing. They have all been notified that this is to remain a positive, professional and non-aggressive event.
If you have any questions, please reach out to me at any time.
Professionally,
Jeremy Blythe
Treasurer, Pasco Advocates PTA
