Award-winning actor Dalton Burdette stars in and directed the film. Pre-sales are getting underway for the film, with digital downloads to be delivered on August 1st.
The premise of “The Local” (32 minutes) is, when a new gang arrives into town, it’s up to now-retired hometown hero Jackson Connelly (played by Burdette) to decide if putting an end to the terror is worth the risk of hurting the people he loves. The film was shot entirely on-location in several counties across Florida.
So far, “The Local” has won Best Script at the LA Sun Film Fest and an Award of Merit for Best Action at the Vegas Movie Awards. Plus, composer Rob Crowell won a Bronze Award for Best Original Score at the Independent Shorts Awards. Furthermore, at the IndieX Film Fest, awards have been won for Best Supporting Actor and Best Supporting Actress by Michael Schenck and Vitória Ressineti, respectively. In addition to those four events, the film is also an official selection of the Chicago Indie Film Awards and American Golden Picture International Film Festival.

Filmmaker Burdette is also the CEO and Senior Content Producer of Movie Knights Productions. He is an award-winning actor known for “No More Safe Haven” (which was picked up for theatrical distribution in Los Angeles) and “Contrition.” He is also the host of the show called “The Movie Knights Podcast,” which can be seen on the Movie Knights official YouTube channel.
