ST. PETERSBURG, JULY, 2021 – Every year on July 20th, Joe Thielemann volunteers at Northside Hospital in honor of his late father, Jack Thielemann. Jack was a volunteer at Northside Hospital for more than 35 years compiling over 36,000 volunteer hours. He was there when the hospital opened in 1976 and as he got older would sit in the hospital’s main hallway greeting and helping people find their way. This spot has now been named Jack’s Corner where a photo of Jack is on the wall and an annual award is displayed named in Jack’s honor. Joe will be there tomorrow from 12:00 – 3:00 p.m. greeting staff and visitors with Jack’s signature “Have A Good Day” in remembrance of his father on what would have been Jack’s 97th birthday. If you would like to come by and visit with Joe please contact 727-521-5265. Joe loves to share stories of his father and spend his father’s birthday at a place that was very dear to him.
