TAMPA, Fla. – Tampa Bay Radiation Oncology (TBRO), a locally owned and physician-managed organization committed to providing experienced, state-of-the-art radiation cancer treatment in a caring and professional manner, welcomes Rahul P. Bhandari, M.D. as its newest radiation oncologist.
Bhandari specializes in all radiation oncology treatment and is experienced in stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT), stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) and intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT). With more than nine years in practice, he has an extensive background in radiation oncology academic research and a strong history of leading projects and publishing peer-reviewed papers at Georgetown University, Northwestern University, the University of Mississippi and the Sonny Montgomery VA Medical Center.

Before joining the physician team at TBRO, Bhandari was an attending physician at the Sonny Montgomery VA Hospital Center in Jackson, Miss., where he helped establish the Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy Program for veterans. He is a member of the American Society for Therapeutic Radiation Oncology, the American College of Radiation Oncology, the American College of Radiology, the Florida Medical Association and the Florida Radiological Society.

Bhandari graduated from George Washington University and received his medical degree through the Early Selection Program of the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences. He completed his Radiation Oncology Residency at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, where he served as the Chief Resident during his last two years.
