Pinellas maintains unemployment rate advantage At 4.3%, Pinellas maintains its unemployment rate advantage compared to the Tampa Bay MSA (4.6%), the state (5.0%) and the nation (5.5%). Within the MSA, Pinellas has a lower unemployment rate than Hillsborough (4.6%), Pasco (4.8%) and Hernando (5.6%) counties. Pinellas is tied with Brevard County for the lowest unemployment rate among the 10 largest counties in the state, and among MSAs, Tampa Bay (4.6%) is #2 among the largest MSAs for unemployment behind metro Jacksonville (4.2%). The On-Site Vaccination Clinic Toolkit from the Department of Health and Human Services was created to support the business community in partnering with local vaccine providers to continue to make vaccinations more convenient and accessible. This toolkit includes a roadmap for working directly with vaccine providers to launch vaccination clinics in places individuals know and trust, sample roles and responsibilities to guide discussion and planning with your vaccine provider, and points-of-contact for vaccine providers offering on-site vaccination services. Applications open for Tampa Bay Innovation Center Startup Accelerator Tampa Bay Innovation Center (TBIC), a business incubator and coworking entrepreneurial center, has opened applications to its accelerator program focused on company founders. The Pinellas County-based accelerator program is seeking all types of high-impact tech startups from all over the country for its fourth cohort. Accelerator participants will engage in a rigorous program that includes coaching, education, connections and expertise from industry professionals. The program will be held virtually.
