Live Oak Theatre is pleased to express its gratitude to 100+ Women Who Care Florida Nature Coast, for choosing Live Oak as the organization’s quarterly grant recipient.
100+ Women Who Care is a group of women from the Nature Coast that gives philanthropically to the community. Meetings are every quarter and the member commits to give $100 per quarter to a charity that is selected at the meeting. The winner gets the funds. “We at 100 Women Who Care are pleased to support Live Oak Theatre. We are growing our group which will allow us to make a greater impact each quarter,” said the organizations founder Mary Crouse.
The organization encourages 100 or more women to commit to the group. Commitment involves attending four, one-hour meetings a year, pledging $100 per meeting ($400 per year). In order to be selected to present at a meeting, a local 501c3 charity must be vetted at least 4 weeks prior to the meeting. 1-2 weeks out from the meeting all members are invited to nominate a local 501c3 they have vetted. (The list is on their website at www.100wwcnc.org.)
Each nomination is placed on an online “Spinning Wheel.” The wheel is spun 3 times, selecting the 3-501c3 who will present at the next meeting. The selected vetted 501c3’s will each have an opportunity to present a five (5) minute presentation and five (5) minute Q&A. The attending members will vote and the recipient announced. Each member writes a check DIRECTLY to the selected 501c3.
A date and time will be scheduled prior to the closing of the meeting for the collected “gift” ($100 checks) to be presented at a photo op.
