Fifteen graduating high school seniors received scholarships of $2,000 each; and veteran student support programs at local universities and colleges were awarded $25,000 to provide financial assistance to veterans in need.
Additionally, the Booker High School JROTC was awarded $1,000 in recognition of the students’ initiative and diligence in helping with the clean- up of a long neglected Sarasota cemetery.
