Over 300 Floridians Expected to Participate in Job Fair Hosted by Grace Family Church and Tampa Hillsborough Homeless Initiative
Hillsborough County, Florida — On June 8, 2021, Grace Family Church, Tampa Hillsborough Homeless Initiative, and Better Together Ministries will host a Second Chance Job Fair. The fair will be from 9:00 AM — 4:00 PM at Grace Family Church’s Ybor Campus at 2806 N 15th Street.
The Second Chance Job Fair will feature employers with current job openings that are willing to hire residents that are unemployed or underemployed due to their criminal background. In addition to meeting with local employers, job seekers will be able to attend workshops on preparing for interviews and applying for the expungement of records. Professional resume assistance will be available, as well as free business attire for each job seeker, sponsored by community partners. Over 30 employers and service providers will participate, representing over 250 open job positions.
One in three Americans has a criminal background. Job fairs like these are critical in helping individuals overcome obstacles so they can provide for themselves and their families. This event will also enable employers to secure the labor they need as the economy continues to strengthen.
“Grace Family Church is committed to serving the spiritual and physical needs of people living in the Tampa Bay area,” Rolanda Beacham, Grace Family Church Outreach Coordinator, commented. “This Second Chance Job Fair will bring together employers and job seekers to uniquely serve our community during this critical time. We believe in second chances and want to provide those connections in a practical way.”
