Gulfside Bank Hires Two New Executives

Beth Green and David Newton Join Senior Management Team

SARASOTA, FL (May 27, 2021)—Gulfside Bank appointed two Senior Vice Presidents, the company announced today. Elizabeth Green will be the Bank’s new Private Banking Director and David Newton will be Director of Government Guaranteed Lending.

“We are thrilled to have these two senior level banking professionals join our team,” says Dennis Murphy, President and CEO of Gulfside Bank. “Beth and David are seasoned bankers who know our community and bring extensive experience in their respective areas to Gulfside Bank.”

Elizabeth “Beth” Green has worked in the local market since 2007 as a Commercial Banking Team Leader, a Private Banker and a Financial Advisor.  Her most recent roles prior to joining Gulfside Bank were serving as a Wealth Advisor for BB&T/Truist and the President of the Women’s Sports Museum.

Green has a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio, and she earned her M.B.A. from Georgia State University.  She is also Omega Certified in Commercial Lending and holds Series 7, 63, and 65 securities licenses.

“I first met Dennis back in 2008 during Leadership Sarasota,” recalls Green. “We were friends from the start, and now I’m delighted to be working together at Gulfside Bank.”

David Newton brings more than 30 years of banking experience to Gulfside.  He started his career in Connecticut before moving to the state of Florida in 1999.  Newton has specialized in developing the government guaranteed lending departments for several banks over the last 12 years, most recently at Central Bank in Tampa.

Newton graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Connecticut in 1990 and has been involved In the Pasco Economic Development Council and with the National Association of Government Guaranteed Lenders (NAAGL) in various capacities.

“I’m excited to join the team at Gulfside Bank and create a department that specializes in SBA and USDA loan types, which will only further complement the Bank’s existing lending efforts.”
