Instagram is one source of valuable and creative content. Today, not only can you create photos and videos for newsfeed, but you can also shoot Stories, record Reels, Live videos, IGTV just for creativity, or even to boost sales.
OK, it doesn’t matter what format of videos you like most on Insta: informative, entertaining, or simply inspiring. Sometimes the idea is that it is necessary to save it, mark its importance somehow, or upload it before the user deletes.
Well, to save an Insta video to your computer or phone, there are several ways to do this: with Instagram video download services, with unique apps, with outdated but still used screen recording, and in another sneaky way. But you can bookmark a video in the Instagram app itself, but you will still need to go to the platform to view it.
How to bookmark a video on IG:
- find a video on a newsfeed;
- then click on the checkbox at the bottom right of the video;
- to rewatch it again, go to your profile and click on the “3 horizontal lines” on the top right, then pick out “Saved”.
4 Top Methods of Instagram video saving
Online savers (for pc and mobiles)
InstaDownload, DownloadInstagramVideo, DownloadGram, Instagram Downloader, IGram, and other Instagram video download savers that upload videos in an online mood are one of the options to get a video quickly.
You need to copy a video link first on Insta (3 dots on the right > copy link) and then paste it into a web-based saver previously opened with a browser from your device. And finally, pick out a location, and some savers can offer a format video before saving it.
Apps (for mobiles)
FastSave, Saver Reposter for Instagram, Quick Save for Android, and InsTake for iPhone (the variety of apps available for iPhones is not as extensive as for Androids) are applications designed especially for uploading videos mobile.
To download videos this way, first, you have to install an application on your phone, launch it, and log in to your IG account. Of course, different apps have different ways of downloading. But the principle is pretty much the same: you either click on the button next to the video right from an app, and it’s saved in the gallery or the app folder, or you copy a video link in Insta itself and paste it into an app input line (just like with online tools).
Sneaky way (for pc)
It is one of the challenging ways to upload videos, but at the same time, it does not require the installation of additional software.
- Launch IG via a computer browser and find the desired video;
- Right-click and pick out “Inspect Element”, or it can be “View Page Source”;
- Call the search field on the source code window (Ctrl+F for Windows or Command+F for macOS).
- Enter “.mp4” and copy the first appeared URL after the “.mp4”;
- Insert the URL into a new browser window, press Enter, and then right-click on the video;
- Click on “Save video as” and choose a location for the content on your computer.
Screen Recording
It is one of the oldest methods of saving video but still can be used as an alternative one. The disadvantage of this way is that the video quality will be poor, plus everything on the screen is recorded, not just a video. But it is one of the fastest and at the same time requires no additional software installations.
The idea is that you turn on the screen recording button (both iPhone and Android have it in the Settings) and then play a video, press the record button again when the video is finished, and whatever was recorded on the screen is saved to the phone’s gallery.
Whichever Instagram video download way you choose, keep in mind that it is important not to break copyright law but to respect the author of the content.
