| SARASOTA COUNTY – The popular Kids’ Summer Beach Runs begin June 8. These free one-mile fun runs are presented by Sarasota County Parks, Recreation and Natural Resources, Sarasota Crew, and New Balance of Sarasota. Kids’ Summer Beach Runs are Tuesdays and Wednesdays, in June and July. Registration opens at 5:30 p.m. and races kick off at 6:30 p.m. Tuesdays, June 8 through July 27, Siesta Beach. Meet near the playground.Wednesdays, June 9 through July 28, Brohard Park. Meet near the Venice Fishing Pier. Registration is required on-site. All fun-run participants will receive a ribbon for finishing each race, and after four runs each participant will earn a t-shirt and a discount coupon for New Balance shoes. Kids’ Summer Beach Run sponsors also include Manasota Track Club, Sharky’s on the Pier, Janoff and Khatri Pediatric Dentistry, the Florida Department of Health – Sarasota County, and Siesta Key Kiwanis.
