Latest addition part of exciting changes at Wesley Chapel’s “Downtown”
WESLEY CHAPEL, Fla. (May 20, 2021) – The Grove at Wesley Chapel will soon feature a new concept in home decorating as Bealls prepares to open a combination outlet and home décor concept.
Bealls Outlet/Home Centric will occupy about 35,000 square feet in the former Toys”R”Us location and offer an additional home section containing furniture, artwork, and holiday supplies.
The store’s opening later this year is part of a wave of exciting changes at the Grove, which developer and landlord Mark Gold of Mishorim Gold Properties purchased for around $64 million in September 2019. MGold is spending an additional $110 million in improvements.
Gold has spent the past year and a half turning the shopping complex into Wesley Chapel’s downtown destination. New offerings include a movie theater of the future that opened in February with luxury reclining chairs and in-movie dining; and open-air live concerts and events throughout the year.
Other projects and tenants scheduled to open in and around the Grove include:
· a Hawaiian-themed miniature golf course with 18 holes, waterfalls and neon lights that illuminate at night
· a container park of 94 shipping containers that will showcase 54 restaurants and retail businesses, along with weekly events
· a national coffee chain that will open near the front of the Grove entrance
· a national grocer that will occupy 14 acres
· a residential community adjacent to the property called Grove West, which will offer 330 apartment units and 82 townhomes and
· another residential community north of the Grove Theater, Bistro, and Entertainment Complex that will hold 540 homes
“We have reimagined shopping and have turned the Grove into Wesley Chapel’s downtown,” Gold said. “This is where families can shop, play, and stay. There is nothing like it anywhere.”
MGold continues to transform its other property in Holiday as well. Holiday Mall was purchased for $8.56 million and less than a year later, the shopping complex is 100% leased. The owners of Tampa-based PK’s PlayZone & Grille will relocate to the Holiday Mall. The 24,000 square foot family fun center will host several attractions like laser tag, rope course, rock climbing, ninja obstacles, toddler zone, and virtual reality experience. There will also be more than 100 video games, four party rooms, and electronic darts.
MGold also has under contract the purchase of a 220,000-square-foot retail center in Tampa for about $22 million. Once that purchase is complete, this site will be the 23rd property owned by the partnership and the third property purchased in 20 months.
MGold Properties is looking to purchase more than 1 million square feet of commercial retail space in the next year.
