BRADENTON, Fla. — Coastal Orthopedics, a full-service provider of comprehensive orthopedic surgery, sports medicine, spine care, pain management and physical therapy services, recently broke ground on a second new facility on 17th Avenue W, just north of Blake Medical Center in Bradenton. The 34,000-square-foot facility will be built on a 4-acre site and will take the place of its west Bradenton space located at 6015 Pointe West Boulevard once it opens in spring 2022.
“Coastal Orthopedics started as Bradenton Orthopedic Associates back in the 1970s. Our roots are here in West Bradenton, so we’re really thrilled to be able to build a new state-of-the-art facility here in West Bradenton where it all began,” said Dr. Arthur Valadie, board president and sports medicine specialist at Coastal Orthopedics. “It’s going to be a beautiful facility that will help us take care of our patients in West Bradenton for the long-term and help make their visits more modern and efficient.”
The facility will house physician office space, fluoroscopy suites, a physical therapy gymnasium, a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) suite, plus room for future expansion.
Last month, the health care provider also broke ground on its future 88,000-square-foot headquarters facility on 12-acres, soon to be located at 8000 State Road 64, to house clinical services, an ambulatory surgery center, physical therapy department, administrative offices, and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), among other services.
The new two-story headquarters facility in East Manatee County is slated for completion in April 2022 and the new location in West Bradenton will open shortly afterward. The contractor for both projects is BBL Medical Facilities and the architect is HCP Architects. Kimley-Horn is the project engineer. Both buildings will feature a modern exterior design, modeled after The Sarasota School of Architecture.
“We recognize the tremendous growth in our area and these new locations will provide superior patient experiences for more patients with convenience, while also continuing to serve our patient base from our West location where we started,” said Paige LeMay, chief executive officer of Coastal Orthopedics. “While our new East Manatee facility will help our organization keep up with the growth in that part of the county, it’s important we maintain a presence in West Bradenton.”
