SARASOTA, Fla. (May 18, 2021) – There’s a new piece of paradise in Sarasota. And its location might be surprising: Northgate Industrial Park. Bogati Urn Company is thrilled to announce a new Florida-themed mural adorning its new company headquarters, located at 1730 Independence Boulevard.
Upon moving its headquarters back to the Northgate area in September 2020, Bogati Urn Company brought more than its ever-growing team and inventory of urns and cremation accessories that it sells wholesale nationwide. Because it was painted on four large sheets of aluminum, Bogati owner, Andrea Bogard LeBlanc, opted to also relocate the original Florida postcard-themed mural artist, Matt McAllister, painted at its previous location.
“I just couldn’t leave the original mural. It was too special and representative of our area to leave behind,” said Bogard LeBlanc. “Luckily, a blank wall above the entryway of the new building offered a prime location for showcasing another one of Matt’s creations.”
Other than requesting another Florida theme, Bogard LeBlanc left the new design up to McAllister. He took inspiration from both Bogati’s logo and one of its biggest sellers – wooden urns – to create a final design that features colorful birds of paradise, hibiscus, other native greenery, a very large parrot, the Bogati diamond, and two types of faux wood.
“I like to experiment with every mural and frame things in a lot,” McAllister said. “Since Bogati’s wood grain urn designs really jumped out at me, I included a wood frame that tied in very well with the tropical feel Andrea was looking for.”
McAllister completed the mural in five days using both exterior house paints and artistic graffiti spray paint, which utilize different caps and pressures to create subtle changes of colors and varying styles, from pencil-thin lines to wide sprays. The final piece measures in at 27 feet x 12 feet.
“Matt’s work is colorful and expressive,” Bogard LeBlanc said. “We see it as a celebration of life that mirrors the concept of so many of our products that we sell, and we’re honored to showcase it in our equally colorful and expressive community.”
