Gulfport, FL: Gulfport, FL will host its inaugural Pride event on May 29, from 4-9 PM to benefit the award-winning LGBTQ Resource Center of the Gulfport Public Library.
The LGBTQ Resource Center is committed to promoting awareness of the diversity of experiences, contributions and needs of people who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and/or queer.
Socially distanced activities will step off with Gulfport Gecko Amalgamated Marching Band just prior to the Pride flag raising ceremony and include the ArtOut Opening Reception and vendors showcasing art, pride gear, services and resources that serve the community. Additional activities and fundraisers sponsored by Gulfport’s all-inclusive local businesses include live music, vibrator races, Drag by the Bay with Brianna Summers-Gemini, a local business décor contest and the Follow the Rainbow Challenge (taking place on Friday, May 28 from 6-9 PM.)
The Rainbow challenge combines a scavenger hunt and a local business crawl and is opened to everyone at no cost. Teams will compete by visiting local businesses and complete challenges to see which team is the funniest and the fastest. If a scavenger hunt and a pub crawl were to collide this would be it.
